Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (6:45 AM - 7:15 PM or 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM), every 3rd weekend and holiday required

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $63 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to Med Surg and Emergency Department patients
Admit, discharge, and transfer patients with compassion and efficiency
Titrate medications and manage drips like insulin, amiodarone, cardizem, and levophed
Respond to codes (cardiorespiratory, stroke, sepsis) and traumas
Start IVs, care for PICC/Port lines, and perform EKGs
Float between Med Surg and ER as needed, working independently with minimal staff

Qualifications

Active RN license in Minnesota
BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
Emergency Department experience is a must
Ability to work independently and communicate directly with hospitalists
Comfortable with telemetry monitoring and reading own strips

Knowledge & Skills

IV insertion and PICC/Port care
Medication titration and code response
Meditech EMR proficiency
Patient admission, discharge, and transfer processes
Floating between units and working in a fast-paced environment
