Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, including weekends; 3 weekend days per pay period

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $57 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate care to patients with post-op, sepsis, pneumonia, COPD, diabetes, and infections
Monitor telemetry and interpret cardiac rhythms for patients floated to telemetry units
Administer medications and titrate heparin drips as ordered
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Maintain sterile field during Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes in SIMs lab
Float to other med/surg and telemetry units as needed

Qualifications

Recent med/surg experience in a Level 1 Trauma center (required)
BLS certification from AHA
Ability to pass dysrhythmia exam prior to accepting assignment
Willingness to adhere to facility policies: natural hair color, no facial piercings, clean-shaven for fit test
No first-time travelers; experienced travelers only

Knowledge & Skills

Telemetry monitoring and interpretation
Charge nurse experience preferred
Proficiency in sterile technique for Foley and central line care
Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
Ability to float and adapt to different units
