Location: Bakersfield, California

Start Date: 06-16-2026

End Date: 09-15-2026

Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM; occasional 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM; weekend rotation every 3rd weekend with Monday/Friday off

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $59 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and treatments for acute inpatient populations including post-surgical, neurological, and deconditioned patients
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient-centered care plans
Document patient progress and adjust interventions to maximize functional outcomes
Educate patients and families on therapeutic exercises and discharge planning
Cover Medical/Surgical, ICU, and ER units as needed

Qualifications

Valid California Physical Therapy license
BLS certification from the American Heart Association
Minimum 1 year of acute inpatient PT experience required
Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in treating general medical, orthopedic, and neurological conditions
Proficient in patient assessment and evidence-based treatment planning
Strong communication and documentation skills
Adaptability to fast-paced hospital environment
