Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a fast-paced PCU unit
• Monitor and titrate intravenous drips including Cardizem, beta-blockers, and seizure medications
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to manage cardiac, nephrology, stroke, and diabetes patients
• Serve as a resource and charge nurse when assigned, overseeing patient flow and supporting team members
• Float to medical floors, ICU, or rehab as needed to ensure adequate staffing
• Participate in ongoing education and pass open-book exams during orientation to ensure clinical excellence

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nebraska or compact state
• Minimum of 1-2 years of PCU or step-down experience preferred
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required at time of start
• Valid driver's license to verify residency for radius rule compliance
• Ability to pass an open-book exam with 90% or higher during orientation
• Positive attitude, strong communication skills, and critical thinking abilities

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in cardiac monitoring, drip titration, and interpreting dysrhythmias
• Strong assessment and problem-solving skills for managing complex patient conditions
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, high-stimulus environment
• Excellent time management and organizational skills to prioritize care
• Flexibility to float across different units and adapt to changing patient needs
