Candidate Pay Rate: $46 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide safe, evidence-based post-anesthesia care for pediatric patients
Monitor vital signs and recovery progress, recognizing and escalating concerns early
Administer medications and manage IVs according to orders and protocols
Perform thorough handoffs and documentation to ensure continuity of care
Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and the perioperative team to optimize outcomes
Support families with clear communication, reassurance, and compassionate care

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
Experience in PACU and/or pediatric nursing preferred
BLS required; PALS and/or advanced pediatric certifications highly desirable
Comfort with pediatric assessment, airway basics, and post-op pain management
Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and meet facility immunization policies
Strong teamwork, communication, and patient/family-centered mindset

Education

Nursing degree required (ADN/BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Pediatric assessment and age-appropriate care
Airway management basics and post-anesthesia monitoring
IV therapy, medication administration, and pain control strategies
Accurate clinical documentation and EMR navigation
Calm decision-making in urgent or rapidly changing situations
Family-centered communication and education
