Candidate Pay Rate: $54 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide attentive post-anesthesia nursing care to pediatric patients in the PACU
Assess and monitor patients’ vital signs, pain levels, airway and recovery progress
Collaborate closely with anesthesia, surgical teams and providers to ensure safe handoffs
Educate families on post-op care instructions and provide compassionate support
Document care accurately and timely in the patient record
Participate in orientation, unit training, and quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Missouri or eligibility to obtain it
Previous pediatric nursing or PACU experience strongly preferred
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; pediatric certifications (PALS) a plus
Comfort working with children and their families in a post-anesthesia setting
Ability to pass standard background and health screening requirements

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of pediatric post-operative assessment and recovery principles
Skilled in monitoring vital signs, airway management and pain control
Familiarity with IV therapy, medication administration and post-anesthesia protocols
Strong communication and teamwork skills for multidisciplinary collaboration
Proficient documentation practices and attention to detail
