Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: RN - PACU (Pediatrics), 4-hour shift (start/end times and specific days not provided in the posting); orientation required

Candidate Pay Rate: $46 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate post-anesthesia care to pediatric patients in the PACU
Continuously monitor and assess patient vitals, pain levels, and recovery progress
Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and the pediatric care team to ensure seamless transitions
Perform safe medication administration, IV management, and timely documentation
Educate and support families on postoperative care and discharge instructions
Participate fully in orientation and any required training to uphold best practices

Qualifications

Current RN license (Ohio or compact state eligibility preferred)
Experience in PACU and working with pediatric patients preferred
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
Strong clinical assessment skills and experience with post-anesthesia protocols
Excellent communication and teamwork skills; patient- and family-centered mindset

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Pediatric assessment and age-appropriate care techniques
Post-anesthesia recovery protocols and monitoring
IV therapy, pain management, and safe medication administration
Clear, compassionate communication with families and multidisciplinary teams
Accurate electronic charting and clinical documentation
