Roles & Responsibilities

Provide high-quality perioperative nursing care to surgical patients in the operating room
Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia, and surgical techs to ensure smooth procedures
Maintain sterile technique and a safe operating environment throughout cases
Prepare and verify surgical instruments, implants, and supplies prior to procedures
Document patient care and handoffs clearly and accurately in the patient record
Participate in team-based problem-solving to improve patient outcomes and OR efficiency

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (required)
Operating Room (OR) experience (required)
Comfortable working as a travel RN and completing facility credentialing
Current basic life support (BLS) certification preferred
Strong teamwork, communication, and adaptability in fast-paced surgical settings

Education

Nursing degree (ADN or BSN) — degree completion preferences vary by facility

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of perioperative principles and sterile technique
Familiarity with common surgical instruments, supplies, and workflows
Ability to assess and monitor patients before, during, and after surgery
Excellent communication and teamwork skills to coordinate care in the OR
Comfortable with electronic health records and documentation best practices
