Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care for pediatric patients in the operating room
• Prepare and maintain a sterile field, instruments, and equipment for surgical cases
• Monitor patients’ condition before, during, and after procedures and report changes promptly
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the OR team to ensure smooth case flow
• Educate and support patients’ families with compassion and clear communication
• Document perioperative care accurately and timely in the patient record

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license for Ohio (or compact RN eligible)
• Experience or strong interest in pediatrics and operating room nursing
• BLS required; PALS and perioperative certifications preferred
• Ability to pass facility background checks and required health screenings
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Pediatric perioperative care and age-appropriate patient handling
• Sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, and OR workflows
• Patient/family-centered communication in high-stress situations
• Basic familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and contribute to a collaborative team
