Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate ICU nursing care for critically ill patients, maintaining a 2:1 patient ratio expectation
• Perform and manage critical procedures such as central line and arterial line placement and intubation when appropriate
• Monitor and manage patients requiring EVD care and collaborate with core staff for specialized cases
• Use Meditech EMR for accurate documentation, medication administration, and care coordination
• Assess, prioritize, and implement interventions for rapidly changing patient conditions
• Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams and patients’ families to support optimal outcomes
• Participate in unit guidelines, safety practices, and continuous improvement efforts to enhance patient care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license (eligible to practice in Texas or via Compact licensure preferred)
• Minimum 1 year of recent ICU experience (NVICU/critical care experience highly preferred)
• ACLS certification required
• Comfortable with critical care procedures: central and arterial line care/placement, intubation, and EVD patient management
• Familiarity with Meditech or similar EMR systems preferred
• Team-player attitude, accountability, and strong communication skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical care assessment and triage skills
• Proficiency with ICU equipment and monitoring
• Experience with central line and arterial line management
• Airway management and intubation competence
• EVD patient care knowledge
• Meditech EMR documentation and workflows
• Ability to work nights and weekend rotations effectively
