Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care for Med/Surg pediatric patients
• Perform thorough assessments, monitor vitals, and respond to changes in condition
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and document care in the medical record
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and aftercare in an approachable way
• Participate in orientation and unit-based training to ensure consistent, high-quality care

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted RN licensure in Missouri (or compact license where applicable)
• Experience in medical-surgical nursing and comfort working with pediatric patients
• BLS required; PALS or pediatric-focused certifications highly desirable
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize, multitask, and remain calm under pressure
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
• Ability to complete required orientation beginning 2026-05-15

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• BSN preferred but all qualified RN applicants are encouraged to apply

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical assessment and pediatric-focused care skills
• Medication administration and IV therapy knowledge
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) charting and documentation best practices
• Infection control practices and safe patient handling
• Ability to educate families and provide compassionate bedside care
• Team collaboration and effective handoff communication
