Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, age-appropriate nursing care to pediatric med/surg patients
• Perform thorough assessments and document patient status accurately
• Administer medications and treatments safely following policies
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and update care plans
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge planning
• Monitor and respond to changes in patient condition with critical thinking and calm judgment
• Participate actively in orientation and ongoing professional development

Qualifications

• Current and active RN license in Washington (WA) or compact RN license as applicable
• BLS required; PALS and/or pediatric certifications strongly preferred
• Hands-on Med/Surg and pediatric nursing experience preferred
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and clinical teams
• Comfortable with medication administration, IV care, and charting in an electronic medical record

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Pediatric assessment and age-appropriate interventions
• Med/Surg nursing principles and post-operative care
• Medication administration and IV therapy skills
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation
• Strong teamwork, time management, and prioritization abilities
• Patient and family education techniques and compassionate communication
