Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care for med/surg and pediatric patients
• Perform thorough assessments and monitor patient status, reporting changes promptly
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately according to policy
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans
• Document care clearly and timely in the electronic health record
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge planning
• Support a positive unit culture by mentoring peers and contributing to quality improvement

Qualifications

• Current RN license valid in Washington State
• Clinical experience in med/surg and/or pediatrics preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; PALS preferred or willing to obtain
• Demonstrated medication administration and IV therapy competency
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team
• Ability to complete required orientation prior to starting clinical shifts

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required or equivalent
• BSN preferred when available

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of med/surg and pediatric nursing principles and best practices
• Proficiency with patient assessment, vital sign interpretation, and documentation
• Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate charting
• Infection control practices and safe medication administration
• Critical thinking and prioritization in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Compassionate bedside manner and family-centered care approach
