Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based medical-surgical nursing care to assigned patients
• Perform thorough patient assessments and develop appropriate care plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and discharge planning
• Maintain accurate, timely electronic health record documentation
• Respond to clinical changes and emergencies with professionalism and sound clinical judgment

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana or licensure accepted by the facility
• Experience in Medical-Surgical nursing (Med/Surg) — comfortable with 12-hour shifts
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (facility may require or prefer)
• Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and documentation skills
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and time-management abilities

Education

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (ADN or BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of medical-surgical nursing principles and patient care
• Skilled in medication administration and patient assessment
• Infection control practices and safe patient handling
• Clinical prioritization and critical thinking under pressure
• Effective interdisciplinary communication and patient/family education
• Proficient with electronic documentation and following care protocols
