Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on the medical-surgical unit
• Assess and monitor patient conditions, recognizing changes and escalating appropriately
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement care plans
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, care plans and discharge instructions
• Document patient care thoroughly and timely in the electronic health record
• Support a positive unit culture by mentoring peers and contributing to quality improvement

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Georgia
• Experience in medical-surgical nursing (Med/Surg) — solid clinical skills and confidence on the floor
• Current BLS certification; ACLS or other advanced certifications a plus
• Ability to work 12.5-hour shifts and provide consistent, reliable coverage
• Strong communication, critical thinking and teamwork skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in patient assessment and early recognition of clinical changes
• Medication administration and IV therapy competence
• Skilled in wound care, mobility support and basic post-op management common to Med/Surg
• Comfortable with electronic charting and following hospital policies and procedures
• Strong prioritization and time management in a fast-paced environment
