Roles & Responsibilities

• Attend and support deliveries independently, providing safe, confident care in L&D
• Circulate during C-sections and collaborate with the surgical team
• Assist with catching and transitioning newborns to ensure smooth initial care
• Provide mother-baby (couplet) care and manage postpartum needs
• Titrate common OB drips (e.g., magnesium, Pitocin, insulin) following protocols
• Perform fetal monitoring and manage patient assessment using Centricity Perinatal and EPIC
• Collaborate with OB/hospitalist, NNP, anesthesia, and unit staff for seamless care
• Participate in unit orientation, follow policies/procedures, and accept constructive feedback to maintain high-quality care

Qualifications

• Active RN license in appropriate jurisdiction (able to work in Washington)
• BLS, ACLS and NRP certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent L&D / LDRP experience (director requests 2 years of references with submittal)
• Comfortable attending deliveries independently and circulating in C-sections
• Experience with newborn transition and basic newborn care
• Experience titrating OB drips (magnesium, Pitocin, insulin)
• EPIC charting experience; familiarity with Centricity Perinatal is a plus
• Prior travel nurse experience required — NO first-time travelers
• Prefer intermediate or advanced fetal heart monitoring (FHM) skills

• Labor & Delivery and Mother-Baby / Postpartum care
• Couplet care and newborn transition skills
• C-section support (circulating) and surgical teamwork
• Titration and management of common OB drips
• Electronic charting in EPIC and fetal monitoring with Centricity Perinatal
• Comfort working with high-risk OB diagnoses (preeclampsia, diabetes, substance use, psych/social)
• Adaptability, strong communication, and ability to work within established unit workflows
• Ability to function independently on nights and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
