Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately in a busy emergency setting
• Deliver evidence-based emergency nursing care across Main ED, Fast Track, and Observation Unit
• Rotate through triage, quick registration, COVID tent, and entry screening as assigned
• Provide patient-centered care during 12-hour day shifts and support continuity across handoffs
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and support staff to coordinate rapid, safe patient care
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses clearly and professionally
• Support public health efforts by assisting with COVID testing and immunization clinics when needed
• Float to other departments for task-oriented or patient-care assignments as competency allows

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in state of practice or compact RN license
• Minimum 2 years recent RN experience in Emergency Nursing (required)
• Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications
• PALS or ENPC (one required)
• TNCC certification required
• Conscious Sedation Certification required (facility can assist with obtaining)
• Ability to work 12-hour day shifts, adapt to changing assignments, and float when needed

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
• BSN preferred where available

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency nursing and triage best practices
• Experience in ED Fast Track and ED Observation Unit workflows
• Strong patient assessment and critical thinking skills
• Comfort working 12-hour shifts and in high-acuity settings
• Quick registration and entry screening processes
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and communicate effectively with the care team
• Infection control principles and participation in testing/immunization efforts
