Roles & Responsibilities

• Apply the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care in the emergency department
• Teach patients and their families to promote recovery, safety and self-care after discharge
• Document patient care accurately and thoroughly in the electronic medical record
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate timely, high-quality care
• Respond swiftly and effectively to patient crises and emergency situations
• Demonstrate critical thinking and sound clinical judgment to prioritize changing patient needs
• Maintain consistent, punctual attendance and contribute to a reliable care team

Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse in the state of Oregon (required)
• American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS (required)
• Recent emergency nursing experience (required)
• Recent acute care hospital experience within the past 5 years (required)
• Able to read, write and communicate effectively in English
• Willing/able to obtain preferred certifications within specified timeframes: ACLS within 6 months, PALS/ENPC within 1 year, TNCC within 1 year, SAFE workplace violence training within 6 months
• National certification in emergency nursing (CEN) preferred but not required

Education

• Licensed Registered Nurse in Oregon (RN). No specific college degree explicitly required in job text; certifications and state RN license are mandatory.

• Emergency nursing and crisis response
