Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Rotating 12.5-hour shifts; exact start and end times vary by schedule, includes nights and weekends

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality emergency nursing care to patients in the ED with skill and compassion
Assess, triage, and stabilize patients quickly and accurately
Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the ED team to implement timely treatment plans
Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes clearly in the patient record
Lead patient and family education to support recovery and safe transitions
Participate in unit initiatives to improve patient flow, safety, and clinical outcomes

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse license in Louisiana or compact RN privilege
Current BLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred or willing to obtain
ED/ER experience preferred; strong critical thinking and triage skills
Ability to work rotating 12.5-hour shifts including nights and weekends
Excellent communication and teamwork skills; patient-centered attitude

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Emergency assessment and stabilization
Triage prioritization and rapid decision making
Familiarity with common ED procedures and equipment
Proficient documentation and electronic health record usage
Strong situational awareness and crisis communication
