Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist physicians in diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations, peripheral procedures, structural heart interventions (TAVR, LAAO) and electrophysiology procedures including device implantations and ablations
• Prepare procedure rooms and patients, review charts, verify consents and communicate abnormal labs or concerns to the physician or NP
• Provide thorough pre- and post-procedural nursing assessments and monitoring, communicating abnormal findings immediately and ensuring safe handoffs
• Independently circulate procedures and document all procedure details in real time in MacLab/CardioLab systems
• Administer procedural sedation per unit policies and maintain patient safety throughout procedures
• Operate specialty equipment such as 3D mapping systems and intra-cardiac ultrasound and use X-ray fluoroscopy safely
• Support interventional neurology cases including carotid stenting, stroke thrombectomy and aneurysm embolization as needed
• Participate in education, preceptorship of new staff, and maintain required certifications and annual competencies

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required
• Preferred recent experience in Cath Lab, ICU, CVICU or IMC (new grads and Med/Surg-only experience are not being considered)
• Demonstrated ability to circulate procedures independently and document in MacLab/CardioLab
• Experience with procedural sedation and hemodynamic monitoring preferred
• Willingness to work variable shifts and respond to on-call pager

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
• Associate degree or Nursing Diploma acceptable with requirement to obtain BS in Nursing within 36 months if not already held

Knowledge & Skills

• Cardiac catheterization assistance and hemodynamic monitoring
• Real-time procedure documentation in MacLab/CardioLab
• Familiarity with 3D mapping systems and intra-cardiac ultrasound
• Proficiency with X-ray fluoroscopy and radiation safety
• Device implantation support for pacemakers, ICDs and loop recorders
• Support for structural heart procedures (TAVR, LAAO) and endovascular interventions (EVAR)
• Ability to assist in interventional neurology procedures such as carotid stenting and stroke thrombectomy
• Strong assessment, critical thinking and communication skills for fast-paced procedural environments
