Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality Emergency Medicine care including airway management and trauma resuscitation
• Lead code responses and support airway management during critical events
• Supervise and collaborate with APPs (midlevel providers) on duty to ensure safe patient flow
• Perform timely EKG assessments and coordinate with cardiology for official interpretations
• Manage ED patients including stabilization, transfer coordination, and appropriate handoffs
• Use the Cerner EHR and DocTime system effectively for documentation and timekeeping
• Communicate clearly with consultants, hospitalists, and transfer centers to arrange specialty care
• Contribute to a supportive team culture and help maintain high-quality ED operations

Qualifications

• Board Certified in Emergency Medicine (required)
• MD or DO degree (Physician)
• Comfortable providing airway management, code response, and trauma care
• Experience or willingness to work in Cerner EHR and use DocTime for shift tracking
• Experience supervising APPs (midlevels) in the ED setting
• Ability to coordinate patient transfers and work with regional referral centers

Education

• MD or DO
• Board Certification in Emergency Medicine

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong Emergency Department clinical skills and triage decision-making
• Proficiency in airway management and emergency resuscitation
• Familiarity with trauma protocols and provisional Level IV trauma activation
• EKG recognition and the ability to act on emergent cardiac findings
• Effective communication with consultants, hospitalists, and transfer services
• Ability to work independently in a busy 18-bed ED averaging high daily volume
• Comfort using Cerner for documentation and managing time with DocTime
