Shift Type: PRN/Float Pool — Rotating 12-hour shifts: Day 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM and Night 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM. Schedule varies (weekdays and weekends possible); specific open dates/times are emailed to accepted providers.

Candidate Pay Rate: $245 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage emergency patients promptly and compassionately
• Provide high-quality, evidence-based medical decision-making in a busy ED
• Perform necessary procedures and stabilize critically ill or injured patients
• Document patient encounters accurately and timely using the facility systems
• Coordinate care with nursing, radiology, lab, and specialty teams
• Communicate clearly with patients and families about diagnosis and next steps
• Support a safe, efficient emergency department flow during your shifts
• Participate in orientation and adhere to site-specific policies and credentialing requirements

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree and completion of an accredited Emergency Medicine residency
• Active or eligible for Michigan medical license (able to obtain state privileges)
• Board certified or board eligible in Emergency Medicine preferred
• Current BLS and ACLS (PALS desirable depending on site practice)
• Willingness to work PRN/float shifts, including day and night 12-hour coverage
• Familiarity with DocTime or willingness to learn the timekeeping system
• Required immunizations/documentation: Hep B (vaccine series or titer), MMR, Varicella, current-season Flu, COVID documentation, TB test within 12 months, and TDAP within last 10 years
• Ability to pass occupational health clearance and facility onboarding

Education

• MD or DO degree; completion of Emergency Medicine residency

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong emergency medicine clinical judgement and rapid decision-making
• Excellent procedural skills common to the ED (airway management, suturing, fracture care, etc.)
• Comfort managing moderate-to-high patient volumes (projected ramp to ~40/day)
• Familiarity with 24/7 radiology (CT/X-ray) and lab workflows
• Clear communication and teamwork with multidisciplinary staff
• Proficiency with electronic documentation and timekeeping tools (DocTime)
• Adaptability in a fast-paced, variable schedule environment
