Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic evaluations and deliver individualized occupational therapy treatment plans that help patients regain independence and confidence
• Design and implement therapeutic activities, exercises, splinting, and adaptive equipment training to improve strength, ROM, and fine motor skills
• Conduct home assessments and provide practical recommendations to make daily living safer and more functional
• Document patient progress accurately and timely in compliance with departmental and regulatory standards
• Consult with interdisciplinary teams, families, and community agencies to coordinate patient-centered care
• Provide prevocational training, prosthetic training, and sensorimotor integration therapies tailored to each patient
• Educate patients and caregivers on energy conservation, joint protection, transfer techniques, and safe use of adaptive equipment

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master’s, or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy required
• Current valid Washington State Occupational Therapist license required or in process of obtaining
• One year of OT experience preferred; new grads are welcome and encouraged to apply
• Strong ability to complete timely documentation, follow regulatory requirements, and participate in quality improvement
• Professional communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
• Willingness to complete mandatory education and attend department in-services

Education

• Bachelor's, Master’s, or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient evaluation and treatment program design
• Therapeutic exercises, splinting, and adaptive equipment recommendations
• Home assessment experience and prevocational program delivery
• Sensorimotor integration and visual perceptual-motor remediation techniques
• Clinical documentation and HIPAA compliance
• Experience with orthopedic, neurologic, cardiac, and balance disorder interventions
