Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate personal care and support to residents, promoting dignity and independence
Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
Safely perform transfers and mobility assistance using proper body mechanics
Observe and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff promptly
Document care accurately and timely to ensure continuity and quality of care
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to create a positive, home-like environment

Qualifications

Current Maryland GNA or CNA certification (or equivalent) required
Active Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred
Comfortable with resident lifting, transfers, and hands-on care
Excellent communication skills and a team-first attitude
Previous long-term care or rehabilitation experience preferred (1+ year ideal)

Education

High school diploma or GED required
State-approved GNA/CNA training program completion

Knowledge & Skills

Resident-centered care and ADL assistance
Infection control and standard precautions
Safe transfer and ambulation techniques
Accurate documentation and charting practices
Time management and reliable attendance
