Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for nuclear medicine studies and perform high-quality diagnostic scans following established protocols and safety standards.
• Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot equipment including gamma camera, dose calibrator, survey meter, well counter, and thyroid uptake probe.
• Administer radiopharmaceuticals safely and document dosing and procedure details accurately.
• Maintain radiation safety practices and required PPE; ensure cleanliness and organization of the work area.
• Communicate findings and coordinate with radiologists and physicians; escalate equipment or safety issues as needed.
• Participate in teaching and instructional activities and provide coverage as needed to support patient care.

Qualifications

• Current Hawai'i Nuclear Medicine Technologist license (required).
• Current BLS/HCP certification (required).
• One (1) year of Nuclear Medicine experience preferred (new grads welcome).
• Demonstrated knowledge of nuclear medicine physics, radiopharmaceutical administration, safety protocols, and equipment operation.
• Strong communication skills and critical thinking to work independently in a single-tech rural environment.
• Ability to meet physical demands: standing, walking, lifting up to 30 lbs, pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs.

• Teaching/instruction and ability to work independently in a rural hospital setting
• Flexibility for patient coverage as needed
