Roles & Responsibilities

• Operate and manage the daily workflow of the women’s health/mammography section to ensure timely, high-quality diagnostic exams
• Perform mammography exams according to Imaging Department and Radiologist protocols, maintaining excellent image quality and patient comfort
• Adhere to FDA mammography compliance and ALARA radiation safety standards while completing daily QA and preventative maintenance checks
• Verify orders, identify patients using two forms of ID, obtain informed consent, and document medical history prior to procedures
• Maintain accurate patient records and charges in the EHR, and ensure prior studies and paperwork are available for Radiologist review
• Troubleshoot imaging equipment and coordinate service calls when needed to minimize downtime
• Coordinate and document accreditation processes, structured reporting, and statistical tracking to support quality improvement
• Assist with clerical duties, phone reception, patient transport, and cross-training or training of imaging staff as required

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program (required)
• ARRT registration in Radiology (R) and Mammography (M) (required)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire
• Must be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States
• Successful background check and pre-employment drug screen (and breath alcohol test if applicable)
• Preferred: Two years prior experience as a practicing Radiologic Technologist with cross-training in CT and MRI
• Preferred experience with PACS and RIS/HIS electronic records systems

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program

Knowledge & Skills

• Experienced in mammography imaging techniques and equipment operation
• Strong knowledge of radiation safety and ALARA principles
• Comfortable with EHR documentation, PACS, and RIS/HIS workflows
• Quality assurance, daily QA checks, and preventative maintenance scheduling
• Patient education, informed consent processes, and excellent communication skills
• Troubleshooting equipment issues and coordinating service support
• Ability to adapt, cross-train in other modalities (CT, MRI, DEXA), and assist in a team environment
