Location: Lanham, MD

Shift Type: Days not specified, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM (day shift)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $20 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and grooming with dignity and care
Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
Observe and report changes in residents' condition to the nursing team promptly
Provide compassionate companionship and engage residents in social and therapeutic activities
Document care accurately and timely, maintaining confidentiality and compliance with facility policies
Follow infection control, safety protocols, and individualized care plans to ensure high-quality care

Qualifications

Current GNA certification (required)
Basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
Experience working with geriatric or long-term care populations is a plus
Ability to pass background check and meet facility onboarding requirements
Strong communication skills and a patient, respectful approach to resident care

Education

High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited GNA program

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of basic geriatric care principles and safe resident handling
Familiarity with documentation practices and electronic or paper charting
Good observational skills to notice changes in resident health or behavior
Teamwork mindset and ability to collaborate with nurses and therapists
Compassion, patience, and strong interpersonal skills
