Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care for geriatric residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Monitor and record vital signs, behaviors, and changes in condition accurately and promptly
• Assist nursing staff with safe transfers, mobility support, and implementing care plans
• Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment that preserves dignity
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and the care team to support person-centered care
• Document care activities and observations in line with facility policies

Qualifications

• GNA certification (Class: GNA) — required
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred
• Comfortable assisting with mobility, transfers, and personal care tasks
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-centered approach
• Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings per facility policy

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• GNA certification (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
• Proficiency with ADLs (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding) and safe transfer techniques
• Accurate vital sign measurement and basic clinical observation
• Basic documentation and charting skills
• Teamwork, time management, and dependable attendance
