Geriatric Nursing Assistant

Location: Baltimore, MD

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per diem (days vary), 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, day shift

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $18 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming) with compassion and dignity
Provide safe and respectful mobility support and transfers
Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes promptly
Document resident care and observations clearly in the chart
Support mealtime assistance and ensure resident comfort during meals
Communicate effectively with nursing staff and families to support care plans

Qualifications

Current GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification required
BLS/CPR (or willing to obtain) required per facility policy
Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and required health screenings
Immunizations up to date as required by facility
Compassionate attitude and strong teamwork skills; prior long-term care experience a plus

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
Completion of an approved GNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of resident-centered care and basic geriatric needs
Skilled in assisting with ADLs and safe transfer techniques
Ability to take and accurately record vital signs
Basic charting and documentation skills
Understanding of infection control and safety protocols
Strong communication, patience, and attention to detail
