Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM (Day) with block schedules. Position floats between units. Rotating weekday and weekend on-call coverage (typically 2-4 weekday calls per month and about 1 weekend every 6 weeks).

Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform and monitor routine and specialized EEG studies across all ages, including ambulatory, sleep-deprived, and long-term monitoring (LTM/EMU)
• Place and verify electrodes accurately and safely for high-quality recordings
• Conduct portable recordings in ICU, NICU and PICU settings with attention to critical-care needs
• Assist with ECI (brain death) testing and document findings clearly and professionally
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and interdisciplinary teams to support patient care and diagnostic decisions
• Maintain EEG equipment, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure proper infection control and safety practices
• Chart patient encounters and study results in Epic (or preferred charting system) in a timely, accurate manner
• Support training and orientation of new staff and participate in ongoing departmental education

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ EEG technologist experience (required)
• Demonstrated competency in ECI Brain Death testing and electrode placement (required)
• Experience with portable recordings in ICU, NICU and PICU settings (required)
• Strong skills with sleep EEG and sleep-deprived EEG procedures (required)
• Experience with ambulatory EEG and long-term/video monitoring (preferred)
• BLS certification preferred
• Comfortable floating between units and participating in rotating on-call coverage
• Familiarity with Epic or similar electronic charting systems preferred
• Experience in Level I trauma or teaching hospital environments is a plus

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of EEG procedures, montage setup, and artifact recognition
• Skilled in electrode application, impedance checks, and patient preparation
• Ability to perform ambulatory, routine, sleep, and long-term EEG studies
• Familiarity with ECI brain death protocols and documentation standards
• Comfort working with neonates through geriatrics across inpatient and outpatient settings
• Technical troubleshooting and routine maintenance of EEG equipment
• Strong communication skills for clear reporting and interdisciplinary collaboration
• Preferred exposure to transcranial Doppler and intraoperative monitoring
