Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialized EEG testing (routine, sleep-deprived, ambulatory, long-term/video monitoring) with accuracy and compassion
• Place electrodes and ensure high-quality recordings across all patient ages from neonates to geriatrics
• Conduct portable recordings in ICU, NICU and PICU settings while maintaining patient and equipment safety
• Perform ECI (brain death) testing per protocol and document findings precisely
• Chart procedures and results in Epic in a timely, clear manner
• Collaborate with neurologists, nurses and multidisciplinary teams to support patient care and diagnostic decision-making
• Maintain EEG equipment cleanliness, calibration and troubleshooting to ensure reliable studies
• Provide clear patient and family education about procedures and what to expect

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of EEG technologist experience
• Required experience with: ECI Brain Death testing, electrode placement, portable recordings in ICU/NICU/PICU, sleep-deprived EEG and routine sleep EEG
• Experience charting in Epic (preferred)
• BLS certification preferred
• Comfort floating between units and participating in rotating on-call coverage
• Preferred experience with ambulatory EEG and long-term/video monitoring

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in ambulatory EEG, long-term monitoring and video EEG techniques
• Familiar with EMU, LTM and outpatient/inpatient EEG workflows
• Ability to perform EEG across the lifespan: neonates, pediatrics, adults and geriatrics
• Experience with portable/bedside recordings and working in critical care environments
• Knowledge of trauma (Level I) care environments and interoperative monitoring (preferred)
• Strong documentation skills and comfort using Epic
