Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate occupational therapy assistance to support patients in regaining independence and achieving meaningful goals
• Assist in implementing individualized treatment plans under the supervision of an OTR, using evidence-based techniques
• Guide patients through therapeutic activities focused on ADLs, fine motor skills, and adaptive strategies
• Monitor patient progress and document outcomes clearly and timely to support continuity of care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and advocate for patient needs
• Educate patients and families on home programs, adaptive equipment, and strategies to promote safety and function

Qualifications

• Current COTA certification/license (California) — required
• Active BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Comfortable working with diverse patient populations; experience in outpatient or rehab settings a plus
• Strong communication skills and ability to document clearly and efficiently
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative care team
• Willingness to work full-time or part-time; open to temp-to-perm transition

Education

• Associate degree or certificate in Occupational Therapy Assistant (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Assessment and implementation of occupational therapy interventions
• Skilled in ADL training, adaptive equipment recommendations, and therapeutic activity design
• Familiarity with clinical documentation standards and electronic health records
• Knowledge of safety, infection control, and patient handling
• Strong interpersonal skills for patient education and team collaboration
• Time management and prioritization in a busy clinical environment
