Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on clinical support to nursing staff for complex patient care, medication administration, and treatment plans
• Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate orientation and continuing education for new hires, experienced staff, and students
• Serve as a clinical practice resource and mentor, strengthening clinical skills across the team
• Act as a liaison between bedside staff and leadership to communicate concerns and drive improvements
• Analyze patient data to identify practice gaps and develop targeted interventions
• Facilitate implementation of new clinical practices, protocols, and equipment with staff training
• Conduct quality control audits and report findings to improve safety and regulatory compliance
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to promote evidence-based standards of care and better patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license for the state of Alaska
• Nursing degree required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) — American Heart Association
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) — American Heart Association
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) — American Heart Association
• Clinical Competency Assessment (SEARHC) and High Risk Competency (SEARHC)
• Minimum of 5 years of RN experience in acute care settings preferred
• Ability to work collaboratively, lead education sessions, and be flexible with scheduling

Education

• Nursing degree required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of clinical practice standards and safe medication administration
• Experience managing acutely ill patients and relevant medical equipment
• Familiarity with evidence-based practice and quality improvement initiatives
• Ability to design and deliver adult learning and clinical education
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for teaching and mentorship
• Proficiency with electronic health records and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Critical thinking and data analysis skills to identify and close practice gaps
• Commitment to regulatory compliance and patient safety standards
