Clinical Laboratory Scientist

Location: Camarillo, California

Shift Type: 10-hour nights (night shift). Exact start/end times and specific days not provided; role is night shift with 40 hours/week guaranteed.

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $110 - $77 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Perform accurate and timely clinical laboratory testing to support patient care
Process and prepare specimens following established procedures and quality controls
Maintain instrument calibration, troubleshoot routine issues, and document findings
Ensure adherence to regulatory and laboratory safety standards
Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and the allied health team to communicate critical results
Contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives and maintain clear records

Qualifications

ASCP certification (required)
BLS Certification (required)
Minimum 2 years of clinical laboratory experience
License to submit: Yes (candidate must have submit-able license)
Completion of 12 hours of orientation as part of onboarding
Comfort working in an acute care environment and on night shift

Education

Not specifically stated (BSN not required). Relevant laboratory certification (ASCP) required.

Knowledge & Skills

Solid knowledge of clinical laboratory procedures and specimen handling
Experience with laboratory instrumentation, quality control, and troubleshooting
Understanding of acute care workflows and timely result communication
Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
Team collaboration and effective communication with clinical staff
