Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate bedside care and assist patients with activities of daily living
• Support patient mobility and safe transfers while using proper body mechanics
• Measure, record, and report vital signs and any changes in condition
• Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for patients
• Document care accurately and timely in the patient record
• Communicate effectively with nurses, clinicians, and families about patient needs
• Assist with feeding, hygiene, and comfort measures to promote dignity

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (required)
• Active or eligible to obtain New Mexico CNA credential
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Ability to pass background checks and TB/health screenings as required
• Comfortable with physical aspects of the role, including lifting and standing for shifts
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• CNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Fundamentals of patient care and ADLs
• Vital signs measurement and basic observation skills
• Infection control and safe hygiene practices
• Patient transfer and safe positioning techniques
• Basic charting and documentation practices
• Strong interpersonal skills and compassionate bedside manner
• Ability to follow care plans and communicate changes to nursing staff
