Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care including hygiene, mobility assistance, and basic comfort measures
• Assist nursing staff with vital signs, documentation, and timely reporting of changes in patient condition
• Support safe patient transfers and use proper body mechanics to protect patients and yourself
• Maintain a clean, comfortable environment by changing linens, restocking supplies, and following infection control practices
• Build trusting relationships with residents and their families through respectful communication and empathy
• Collaborate with the care team to follow care plans and ensure continuity of care
• Respond to patient needs promptly and escalate clinical concerns to licensed nursing staff

Qualifications

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (current and in good standing)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
• Comfortable providing hands-on patient care and assisting with mobility
• Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Flexible availability to work per diem night shifts

Education

• Completion of an approved CNA training program; high school diploma or equivalent preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic patient care techniques and ADL assistance
• Familiarity with infection control, safety, and hygiene standards
• Skill in accurate documentation and following care plans
• Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
• Good interpersonal skills for interacting with patients and families
• Time management and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced setting
