Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming) with dignity and respect
• Measure and record vital signs and report changes to the nursing team promptly
• Support safe patient transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Provide compassionate bedside care and emotional support to patients and families
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in patient charts and electronic health records
• Follow infection control practices, safety protocols, and facility policies at all times
• Communicate clearly and positively with nurses, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members

Qualifications

• Valid CNA certification (Current or able to obtain licensure in New Mexico)
• Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and required health screenings
• Comfortable performing hands-on patient care and following care plans
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient care
• Previous CNA experience preferred but motivated new CNAs are encouraged to apply

Education

• High school diploma or GED; completion of an accredited CNA program

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assisting with ADLs (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding)
• Competent with measuring and documenting vital signs
• Familiarity with safe patient handling and transfer techniques
• Basic charting and electronic health record (EHR) experience
• Understanding of infection control and patient safety practices
• Teamwork-oriented with good time management and observational skills
