Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living
• Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility
• Take and record vital signs and report any changes in condition to nursing staff
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the resident chart or EMR
• Support safe transfers and use proper body mechanics to prevent injury
• Follow infection control, safety protocols, and facility policies at all times
• Collaborate with the care team to deliver person-centered care
• Offer emotional support and friendly companionship to residents and families

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (or eligible to be certified) — state certification required
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or obtainable upon hire
• Up-to-date immunizations and TB testing as required by the facility
• Ability to pass background checks and required pre-employment screenings
• Previous CNA or long-term care experience preferred but enthusiastic new grads are welcome

Education

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of an approved CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfortable with resident care tasks and mobility assistance
• Basic clinical skills: taking vital signs, measuring intake/output, observing changes
• Familiarity with infection prevention and safe patient handling
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team
• Dependable, punctual, and able to manage time during busy shifts
• Basic computer/EMR charting skills are a plus
