Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide on-site medical care for athletes: prevent, evaluate, and manage injuries
• Perform musculoskeletal and concussion evaluations and guide return-to-play progression
• Design and implement injury rehabilitation and job-specific conditioning programs
• Perform functional progress assessments and post-offer employment testing
• Document evaluations, treatments, and clearance decisions with accuracy and clarity
• Communicate findings and care plans clearly with athletes, parents, coaches, employers, and physicians
• Coordinate schedules and coverage for athletic events and after-school activities
• Serve as a physician extender in the orthopedic clinic—take histories, assist with scheduling surgeries, and educate patients

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, or Kinesiology (required)
• 1+ years of related work experience (required)
• Current Athletic Trainer license in Wisconsin (required)
• Board of Certification (ATC) credential (required)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (required)
• Valid driver's license (required)
• Strong attention to detail, excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Comfortable with intermediate to advanced computer use

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, or Kinesiology

• Injury prevention and rehabilitation techniques
• Concussion assessment and management
• Emergency care and on-field response
• Musculoskeletal examination and functional assessments
• Return-to-play progression protocols
• Occupational health practices (POETs, desk assessments, FPNs)
• Patient education and clear, compassionate communication
• Scheduling coordination and event coverage logistics
