Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide on-site athletic event coverage and after-school activity support at the contracted high school
• Prevent, evaluate, diagnose, and manage athletic injuries including developing rehab plans and communicating them to athletes, parents, and coaches
• Perform concussion assessments, manage symptom monitoring and supervise return-to-play progressions
• Document evaluations and treatments accurately and communicate findings to the care team
• Conduct occupational health tasks such as POETs, desk assessments, and FPNs to support safe return-to-work decisions
• Perform functional progress assessments and post-offer employment testing to aid patient, employer, therapist, and physician decisions
• Support the orthopedic clinic as a physician extender by taking histories, scheduling surgeries, and educating patients
• Coordinate coverage schedules and collaborate with coaches, physicians, and employer partners to ensure consistent care

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, or Kinesiology required
• Minimum 1+ year of related work experience
• Current Athletic Trainer license in Wisconsin required
• Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers certification required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Valid, current driver's license required
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, or Kinesiology

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in musculoskeletal examination and injury rehabilitation
• Experienced in concussion evaluation and management
• Knowledgeable in emergency care and occupational health processes
• Proficient with computers and documentation systems
• Excellent interpersonal communication and patient education skills
• Problem-solving mindset and self-starter attitude with compassion for patients
