Roles & Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure transactions are recorded correctly in hospital financial systems
• Prepare journal entries and perform month-end close activities to support timely financial reporting
• Reconcile subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger and perform detailed account analysis
• Produce variance analyses and support financial reporting requirements for stakeholders
• Coordinate and respond to internal and external audit requests, working directly with auditors
• Ensure integrity of accounting information and compliance with accounting policies and procedures
• Manage multiple deadlines under pressure while maintaining consistent, punctual attendance
• Contribute to process improvements and stay current on accounting trends and best practices

Qualifications

• BS in Accounting, Business Administration, or related degree required (an Associate's degree plus 5 years relevant accounting experience accepted in lieu of bachelor’s)
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting
• Advanced degree or CPA highly preferred
• Proven experience with month-end close, journal entry preparation, account reconciliation and analysis
• Demonstrated ability to work with auditors and coordinate audit requests
• Strong communication skills and ability to learn accounting systems quickly
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and perform well under pressure

Education

• BS in Accounting, Business Administration, or related degree required
• Associate’s degree + 5 years relevant accounting experience accepted in lieu of bachelor’s
• Advanced degree or CPA preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, complex formulas)
• General ledger maintenance and account reconciliation
• Financial reporting and variance analysis
• Journal entry preparation and account analysis
• Familiarity with healthcare/hospital accounting practices
• Audit coordination and documentation skills
• Comfortable working in accounting systems and learning new software quickly
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
