Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage and troubleshoot ventilators including Draeger and Servo I models to keep patients safely supported
• Perform independent neonatal intubation and advanced airway management when required
• Provide ventilator weaning, high frequency oscillator and high frequency jet ventilator care as clinically indicated
• Deliver aerosolized and inhaled therapies, set up nebulizers and MDIs, and ensure appropriate medication delivery
• Interpret arterial blood gases and perform basic EKG interpretation to inform respiratory plans
• Document thoroughly and accurately in EPIC to maintain continuity of care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including PT, pharmacy, radiology and rapid response to optimize patient outcomes
• Float between campuses and adapt to varying patient loads while maintaining high-quality care

Qualifications

• Washington state license required to apply
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, PALS
• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience with NICU experience required (manager may waive PICU requirement)
• EPIC charting experience required
• Ability to independently intubate neonates and perform neonatal airway management
• Willingness to float to other campuses and cover variable weekends

Knowledge & Skills

• Ventilator management: BiPAP, CPAP, high frequency oscillator, high frequency jet ventilator, Draeger, Servo I
• Airway management: intubation, extubation, tracheostomy care, nasal/oral airway placement and suctioning
• Neonatal/pediatric respiratory procedures including umb blood gases, CPAP/Nasal CPAP/BiPAP
• Medication administration and delivery systems: nebulizers, MDIs, medihaler, trach aerosol setups
• High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) and oxygen therapy
• ABG interpretation and basic EKG skills
• Familiarity with NIV, NAVA and pulmonary function testing (preferred)
