Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry continuously, responding promptly to dysrhythmias and urgent events
• Provide safe, patient-centered care for adults and geriatrics on a high-acuity MS/Telemetry unit
• Administer medications and blood products following facility protocols, including heparin protocols and PCA management
• Manage vascular access including peripheral IVs, PICC lines and central lines with meticulous care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (RT, PT, pharmacy, rapid response) to coordinate patient care and transitions
• Document thoroughly and accurately in Epic to ensure continuity of care and compliance
• Participate in Rapid Response and Code teams — be a confident emergency responder
• Provide patient and family education on diagnoses, procedures, and discharge planning to support recovery

Qualifications

• Active RN license (must be valid for practice in North Carolina or eligible per facility rules)
• Minimum 2 years of MS/Telemetry nursing experience preferred (MS/Tele specialization)
• BLS, ACLS, and NIH/NIHSS certifications required
• Comfortable with Epic charting and electronic documentation
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and emergency response
• Ability to float within scope to like units as needed and work collaboratively with teams
• Willingness to work night shift schedule and every-other-weekend requirement

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry interpretation and cardiac monitoring expertise
• Dysrhythmia recognition and management
• IV therapy, central line and PICC care/maintenance
• Feeding tube care and management
• BiPAP/CPAP and High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) familiarity
• Wound care and wound vac management
• Blood product administration and heparin protocol knowledge
• Comfort with rapid response/code team processes and emergency interventions
• Strong Epic electronic charting skills and clinical documentation
