Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care for a high-risk obstetrics population
• Perform continuous fetal heart monitoring and manage high-risk pregnancy monitoring
• Assist, scrub, or circulate during C-sections and support vaginal deliveries as needed
• Serve in the newborn role at deliveries and provide postpartum couplet care when required
• Chart accurately and efficiently using Epic to ensure continuity of care
• Float to postpartum and support interdisciplinary teams including PACU and regional anesthesia areas
• Respond to emergent events (e.g., emergent D&C/hysterectomy) with clarity and teamwork
• Maintain patient privacy and discretion in a facility that serves high-profile patients

Qualifications

• Current RN license valid in California (no pending licenses accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery / Perinatal nursing experience (first-timers not accepted)
• Required certifications: AWHONN Advanced OR NCC EFM accepted in lieu of AWHONN
• Additional required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, FHM (AHA certificate required for ACLS/BLS)
• Travel nursing experience required
• Willingness to work every-other-weekend and float to postpartum as needed
• Ability to work in OR suite environment and assist in perioperative obstetric care

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in fetal heart monitoring and electronic fetal monitoring (EFM)
• Strong labor and delivery management skills, including sterile vaginal exams
• Experience with C-section roles: scrub, assist, and circulate
• Proficient in Epic charting and accurate documentation
• Comfort working with high-risk obstetric patients and neonatal care
• Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and maintain patient confidentiality
• Familiarity with PACU/regional anesthesia workflow and intraoperative support
