Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor patients continuously and interpret telemetry to detect dysrhythmias and cardiac changes
• Administer chemotherapy-related care and manage infusion therapies with attention to safety
• Start and maintain IVs, manage PICC and central lines, and administer blood products safely
• Access implanted ports and assist with chest tube insertion and removal when needed
• Provide respiratory support including HFNC and assist with BiPAP/CPAP and tracheostomy care
• Interpret arterial blood gases and act on findings in collaboration with the care team
• Champion infection prevention protocols and fall prevention to protect patients
• Document thoroughly in Epic and communicate clearly with interdisciplinary partners
• Float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as requested to support staffing needs

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) with a minimum of 2 years RN experience
• Epic charting experience required
• BLS/BCLS certification required
• Oncology experience preferred but not required; at least 1 year of current specialty experience is needed for a clinical pass
• Previous travel experience preferred
• Comfort working with a 1:4 patient ratio and floating to similar units
• Ability to complete 72 hours of orientation at contract start
• Flu vaccine required, medical exemptions only; COVID-19 vaccine not required per facility guideline

• IV therapy including IV starts, blood product administration, PICC and central line care
• Accessing ports and assisting with chest tube procedures
• High Flow Nasal Cannula management and respiratory support skills
• Arterial line management and ABG interpretation
• Strong infection prevention practices and fall prevention strategies
• Proficient Epic documentation and electronic charting
