Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients comprehensively — physical, emotional, psychosocial and family needs — to shape individualized care plans
• Coordinate and organize all aspects of critical care, ensuring smooth transitions in the pre- and post-operative periods
• Evaluate patient progress by interpreting clinical data and adjusting the plan of care for optimal outcomes
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to plan and implement total patient care
• Perform clinical evaluations and timely documentation in Epic to support safe, evidence-based care
• Apply advanced ICU skills — ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring and complex medication administration — with precision and compassion

Qualifications

• Active Michigan RN license (must be active as verified via LARA or Nursys)
• Minimum 2+ years of SICU (Surgical ICU) experience — required
• Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
• Completed ICU skills checklist current within 1 year (required)
• Prior travel assignment history is preferred
• Epic EMR experience is preferred
• Two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years (required)
• Candidates must provide permanent address — facility will not consider local candidates within a 50-mile radius
• All scheduling requests must be submitted at time of application (facility may rescind offers if scheduling requests are made after offer)

• Pre- and post-operative critical care expertise
• Advanced patient assessment and clinical evaluation
• Care coordination and interdisciplinary collaboration
• Proficiency with Epic electronic medical record documentation
• Strong critical thinking and rapid decision-making in high-acuity settings
• Familiarity with ICU equipment, ventilators, hemodynamic monitoring and infusion therapies
• Excellent communication skills with patients, families and care teams
