Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one nursing care for an assigned student, delivering attentive, individualized support
• Perform tracheostomy care and trach suctioning safely and competently as needed throughout the school day
• Support students within a disabilities classroom setting, adapting care to each student’s needs
• Collaborate with teachers, families, and school staff to coordinate care and promote a stable learning environment
• Monitor and report student condition changes, ensuring continuity of care during the school day

Qualifications

• Active SC RN license (required)
• Demonstrated experience with tracheostomy care and frequent suctioning (required)
• Experience providing 1:1 student support in a disabilities classroom or similar setting
• Comfort working in an educational environment and communicating with school staff and caregivers

Knowledge & Skills

• Tracheostomy care and trach suctioning expertise
• Hands-on experience supporting students with disabilities
• Ability to work one-to-one with students and maintain focus over a school day
• Clear, compassionate communication with families and school teams
• Reliable clinical decision-making in school-based settings
