Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform ambulatory and inpatient EEG testing, including long-term monitoring and video EEG, with accuracy and compassion
• Place electrodes and prepare patients of all ages for studies, ensuring comfort and proper technique
• Operate portable EEG equipment in ICU/NICU/PICU settings and during inpatient consults
• Conduct sleep-deprived EEGs and routine sleep EEG studies following protocol
• Assist with brain death testing (ECI) and document procedures clearly in Epic
• Monitor and troubleshoot equipment during long-term monitoring to ensure reliable data capture
• Collaborate with neuro teams, technologists, nurses, and physicians to support patient care and diagnostic workflows
• Maintain meticulous documentation, adhere to infection control practices, and support quality improvement efforts

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of EEG technologist experience (new grads/1st timers considered)
• BLS certification required; EEG certification/registration or R.EEGT preferred
• Experience with ambulatory EEG, LTM/video monitoring, sleep EEG, and portable ICU/NICU/PICU recordings
• Experience charting in Epic is required
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience required; Trauma Level I experience required
• Comfort working night shifts, block schedules, and participating in on-call coverage
• Strong patient communication skills and ability to work with all age groups from neonates to geriatrics

Education

• Completion of an accredited EEG/Neurodiagnostic Technology program or equivalent clinical experience preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional neurodiagnostic training encouraged

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in EEG procedures and electrode placement
• Skilled in long-term monitoring (LTM), ambulatory EEG, and portable EEG recording
• Experienced with sleep EEG and sleep-deprived protocols
• Familiarity with brain death testing (ECI)
• Competent using Epic for charting and documentation
• Able to work in ICU/NICU/PICU environments and adapt to fast-paced acute care settings
• Equipment troubleshooting and data quality assurance
