Location: Rio Rancho, NM

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Days vary, 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM (day shift)

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $19 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate direct patient care including assistance with activities of daily living
Take and document vital signs, intake/output, and basic observations accurately
Assist nursing team with safe transfers, ambulation and fall prevention
Maintain a clean, safe and respectful environment for residents
Communicate changes in patient condition promptly to nursing staff
Support residents emotionally and socially to promote dignity and comfort

Qualifications

Current CNA certification in New Mexico or eligibility to obtain state certification
High school diploma or GED required
Valid BLS/CPR certification preferred or able to obtain upon hire
Comfortable assisting with ADLs and working as part of a multidisciplinary care team
Ability to pass facility background checks and required health screenings

Education

High school diploma or GED; current CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

Strong patient care skills and attention to safety and infection control
Basic knowledge of vital signs, documentation and reporting
Good communication and teamwork skills with residents and staff
Compassion, patience and the ability to build rapport with residents
Ability to follow care plans and direction from licensed nursing staff
