Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to geriatric patients, supporting daily living activities
• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility to promote dignity and comfort
• Monitor and report changes in patient condition to nursing staff promptly
• Support safe transfers and use proper body mechanics to protect patients and yourself
• Help create a calm, respectful environment that supports patient well-being
• Document care provided and observations accurately and timely according to facility protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support individualized care plans

Qualifications

• GNA certification (required)
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or required by facility
• Prior experience working with geriatric or long-term care populations is a plus
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and required health screenings
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with patients and families
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work evening/PM shifts

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a recognized Geriatric Nursing Assistant program and certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Knowledge of basic infection control and safety practices
• Comfortable with basic patient mobility and transfer techniques
• Able to observe and report changes in patient status accurately
• Good time management and the ability to follow care plans and procedures
• Compassionate bedside manner and patience with older adults
